CHICAGO DAILY NEWS ■401 NORTH WABASH AVENUE CHICAGO II, ILLINOIS November 18, 1964• Mr. John S. Knight, Akron Beacon Journal, Akron, Ohio. Dear Mr. Knight: I see by the papers that the citizens of your home town have taken approprl ate notice of the honor you have done them by continuing in the newspaper business for half a century. May I add my belated congratula¬ tions? My praise is less for the number of years than for the luster to which you have polished them by your accomplishments. Your career is a great per¬ sonal satisfaction to me in a way that you may not have suspected. I think to myself, "Now here is John Knight, a zillionaire, who thinks that the most rewarding thing he can be doing is to write a newspaper column, and, 16 and behold, I also am writing a newspaper column, with an additional privilege that he does not have. I can contradict the boss, and he ca^t Many more and happy years to you! Sincerely, ^hn^M. Johnston. JMJ:cm
