When Eugene Meyer of the Washington Post bought the Washington Times Herald from Col. McCormick^ the Colonel expressed the strong hope and advice that he would not carry Drew Pearson. Meyer replied that Pearson's readership was 60%; and that unfortunately he couldn't accept that advice. * I hope that it doesn't take as long for the Tallahassee Democrat to order the Pearson column as it did for the Chicago Daily News.
