January 25, 1967 Mr. John H. Halliburton, Vice-President Flight Operations Eastern Airlines, Inc. International Airport Miami, Florida 33148 Dear Johns ThanX you for joining Harry Hood Bassett, Dan B. Ruskin, Billy Gaither and the other top community leaders who met at the Miami Herald on Monday, January 16th, to plan the 15th Annual Brotherhood Dinner of the Florida Region of the National Conference of Christians and Jews. The enthusiastic discussion and response, both here and at the general dinner committee meeting the following day, makes our goal of $75,000 for the February 2l8t, 1967 Dinner at the Fontainebleau, most realistic. Although none of us made formal commitments on Monday, we feel that the pledge of our support was implicit. Please join us in setting the pace for the Dinner, honor* ing Sidney D. Ansin, Joseph M. Fitzgerald, Mayor Robert Xing High and Sister Dorothy, by sending in your own table reservations now. Those individuals or firms who buy one or more tables will be listed as 1967 "Builders of Brotherhood". We are cer¬ tain you will want to be a member of this significant cate¬ gory. Z feel that the selection of Whitney Young, national Bxecu tive Director of the Urban League, as our principal speaker is most fortunate. And, you will be pleased to learn that Dan has pledged to follow Hood9s example in adjourning the Dinner on February 2l8t, prior to i0s30 P.M. Cordially, JSX/jc John S. Knight
