Description/Abstract |
A one-day Symposium on Engineering Psychology was convened at St. Andrews, Scotland, as part of the Annual Conference of the British Psychological Society. Papers were presented by Kay, Gibbs, Baker, Conrad, Singleton, and Simister, Seymour, and Fraser. The writer served as chairman and open. This report gives the text of the introductory remarks and resumes of the seven papers, which ranged through the topics of information theory, sensory servos, decision-taking, telephone switchboard operation, shoe-sewing layouts, transfer of skills, and the effects of stress on vigilance. |
